Church & Harsnett Houses are 17th Century Grade II listed properties which, following full restoration, now serve as dormitories for older boarders.
Both houses required full strip-out and restoration, including roof repairs/renewal, wet rot treatment and heritage works, including lime plasterwork and cornicing repairs, specialist woodwork and the refurbishment of doors and windows together with minor structural alterations. All works were carried out using materials and methods as close to the original as possible.
The school is situated in a village environment with narrow lanes and residential properties and we were simultaneously carrying out other works to the main school; consequently, we put in place a strict traffic management system for both projects to ensure all vehicular access was controlled, safe and did not impinge on the neighbouring community.
